Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using SortedPDF. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using SortedPDF (the "App"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MacPherson Ventures Pty Ltd (trading as SortedPDF) ("we", "our", or "us"). We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

SortedPDF is an AI-powered mobile application for iOS and Android that enables users to:

  • Save personal and business profile information in an encrypted, on-device store.
  • Import PDF forms (including scanned, non-fillable PDFs) and use AI to automatically detect and fill form fields using saved profile data.
  • Scan receipts using AI to extract structured expense data for record-keeping and export.
  • Export filled PDFs and receipt data.

The App requires an internet connection only for AI field detection and receipt scanning features. All profile data and documents are stored locally on your device.

3. Accounts and Subscriptions

SortedPDF does not require account registration. Subscription management is handled entirely through your App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) account. The following subscription tiers are available:

Free — $0

  • 3 form fills per month

Basic — $4.99 AUD/month or $49.00 AUD/year

  • Unlimited form fills
  • 50 receipt scans per month
  • No watermarks on exported PDFs

Pro — $19.99 AUD/month or $199.00 AUD/year

  • Unlimited receipt scans

Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Refunds

Refunds are handled in accordance with the refund policies of Apple App Store and Google Play respectively. We do not process refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Apple or Google through the standard channels for your platform.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use SortedPDF for lawful personal and business purposes. You agree that you will not:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, identity theft, or the creation of false documents.
  • Use the App to fill in forms on behalf of another person without their express authorisation.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the AI field detection or any other component of the App.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any rate limits, usage caps, or security measures imposed by the App or our backend services.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our backend systems or third-party APIs used by the App.
  • Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our services.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these acceptable use provisions.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

SortedPDF uses AI to detect form fields and suggest field values. While we strive for accuracy, AI systems can make errors. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI-generated field detection and data matching may contain errors or inaccuracies.
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all auto-filled content before submitting any form or document.
  • We are not liable for any consequences arising from errors in AI-generated output, including but not limited to form submission errors, incorrect data, or document rejection.
  • SortedPDF is a productivity tool and is not a substitute for professional advice — legal, tax, medical, financial, or otherwise. Always seek appropriate professional advice before submitting important documents.

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in SortedPDF — including the App, its design, software, AI models, branding, and content — are owned by or licensed to MacPherson Ventures Pty Ltd (trading as SortedPDF) and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in relation to our intellectual property other than the limited licence to use the App in accordance with these Terms.

Your content: You retain full ownership of all documents, profile data, and receipts you input into the App. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content.

No training use: We do not use your profile data, document content, or receipt images to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the App.
  • We are not liable for any errors in AI-generated output or for any consequences of relying on auto-filled form data without verification.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the total subscription fees you paid to us in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Termination

By you: You may stop using the App at any time and cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all data stored on your device.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where possible, except where immediate suspension is necessary to prevent harm or legal exposure.

Effect of termination: Upon termination or closure, all data stored on your device will remain until you uninstall the App or clear your data via Settings > Clear Data. We do not hold server-side copies of your personal data to delete.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales for any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App.

If you are a consumer in another jurisdiction, nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or state.
